Another top ten sweep of the best vintage and antique furniture on Craigslist and Kijiji Montreal!:
Eastlake Secretary
Love this Eastlake secretary, but it’s 3″ too wide to fit the alcove next to my fireplace. Look at that top moulding: very ticky-tacky boxes, all lined up in a row!
Saint-Joseph-du-Lac. Asking $225. DEAL
Peacock Dresser by Red Wind Studio
Art Deco style three drawer dresser with large round mirror. Painted white & distressed, with added peacock feather motif in an iridescent pearl finish that glints green, purple, silver or blue in the light.
Cornwall. By Red Wind Studio. Asking $400. DEAL
Marble Bistro Console Table
A white marble top console table with black cast iron legs, originally from France.
Terrebonne. Asking $150. DEAL
Oak Vitrine
Curved glass oak vitrine or curio cabinet with columns.
Dorval. Asking $500. APPEAL
Scallop Back Chair
Tuck and roll scallop back armchair with Queen Anne legs. Probably late ’40s, with more recent upholstery in a shimmery purple/blue fabric. Too bad there’s only one: a pair would have been even nicer.
Montreal. Asking $150. APPEAL
Wood Frame Settee & Chair
An early 20th century wood frame settee and matching parlour chair, with paw feet. Needs reupholstering.
Vaudreuil-Dorion. Asking $200. APPEAL
Wicker Sofa
Wicker sofa from Italy, with orange loose cushions.
Montreal. Asking $130. APPEAL
Union Jack Round Side Table
A round wood side table, painted and distressed with a Union Jack motif in turquoise, grey and white. Could do without the endemic “Keep Calm” styling.
Montreal. Asking $150. DEAL

Jacobean style vintage wood console table.
Terrebonne. Asking $50. DEAL

I’m jealous of your Craigslist–it’s obviously WAY better than ours in Toronto!

I’ve heard the same complaint from others… it’s weird, you’d think Toronto would have even MORE deals. If it’s any consolation, your retail scene for both fashion and furniture is much bigger!
I think one of the differences is that Montrealers’ absolutely love thrifting, antiquing, flea markets and shopping in tiny boutiques – it’s all about the hunt, and finding quelque chose unique. So Craigslist & Kijiji are a natural fit.
Thanks for reading!
